Dan was a throwaway child and learned to take care of himself in foster care. As an adult, he devotes his life to the business he started and his heart to raising children no one else wants. Dan has already adopted six-year-old Lila, who walks on crutches, and then decides to adopt eight-year-old Jerry, who suffers from MD and is confined to a wheelchair.

Also abandoned as a child, Connor ended up on his own and retreated into himself. He works as a carpenter and woodcarver and is the perfect man to ensure Dan's home becomes wheelchair accessible.

When Dan hires Connor, neither of the men are ready to open their hearts to the possibility of love. As they learn how much they have in common, both of them must weigh the possibility of family and a future against the risks of getting hurt again.

Love Comes Around Senses Book 4 (Audible Audio Edition) Andrew Grey Max Lehnen Dreamspinner Press LLC Books

This latest (I actually read & wrote my review in one of my green Steno note pad on 09-22-2015) Andrew Grey "Senses" installment is just that... sweet. Also a slow build up. And if you don't like a man referring to his nice backside as his butt, well you may want to skip this book. Despite enjoying it very much (and to be perfectly honest this was my second attempt at reading it) I still found lulls where I was tempted to put the book down again, but this time I persevered & finished.

Full disclosure I tried to read the 5th book, LOVE COMES UNHEARD, before this one, but I felt lost in the sauce. Who was that? What are they talking about? So reluctantly I began this book again and despite my initial reticence I found myself swept up in the story of the "throwaway".

The two MCs are so poignant in their sadness and similarities, that you experience their anguish & indecision. Reluctance and fear. Strong mutual attraction & self doubt. Their mutual need to be in control and finally feeling free enough to give up their tightly held on to control. And I'm referring to the adults. When I get to the kids all bets are off.

Those two adorable tykes stole the show. The author redefines disabled. It doesn't mean unable to do everything. It means having to do things a different way. Differently Abled. The love businessman Dan felt for his created family was all encompassing. He went out of his to provide for them and show that they were wanted, loved, and a forever part of his new family.

There was only one thing missing. His no longer hopeful heart was feeling the first faint stirring at the sight of the sexy handyman. But he couldn't trust anyone, but his kids and his Man / Manny / Butler / Sounding board, Wilson could he?

If you enjoy hurt and comfort stories then you'll double your pleasure. Both of the MCs are men fighting to overcome tragic pasts.

Love Comes Around Senses Book 4 (Audible Audio Edition) Andrew Grey Max Lehnen Dreamspinner Press LLC Books Reviews

Broken, my heart was just broken reading this book. Andrew Grey can always make me cry like a little girl, his books are so powerful and heartbreakingly beautiful. I officially hate the term throwaway kids, it's cruel and just about kills me. Dan is such a crazy awesome guy who is forever taking care of and adopting children with special needs and giving them the home and loving family they deserve. Connor is a wonderful character as well and you can't help but fall in love with him also. Together their family is incredible and forever expanding. Great book!
I love how the romance progressed. For two wounded hearts, it was only right that they took their time. However, I think this book is more of a family story with a side of romance. I cried a lot while reading this book.

The audible version though .... The narration sounded like 1950s sitcom to me. It was not sexy. Kinda weird during intimate moments.
As a person who spent the summer with Andrew Grey's Range Series revisiting all of the books. Every book in the Senses Series are amazing. So thoughtful, lovely loving. Wow just wow. This is the story of two men, wonderful men who came from similar backgrounds, lack of parental love and security. Dan a successful businessman and Connor a very talented craftsman. Both leading lonely lives. Dan has always wanted a family of his own so he has adopted two children from the towns children's home. Both with disabilities Lilah and jerry. We also get to see Hannah and Ken and Patrick from Love Comes Silently. I am always am left wanting more story.
Andrew Grey has done another tremendous job on the last book of his Senses Series. The story line among all the 4 books flows amongst them all and the characters are true to life bringing in heart wrenching emotions which kept me engrossed with them all. This novel contains Dan, who was a throwaway child, which struggled in life with not feeling loved, but became very successful and wealthy in his adult life. When he moves to Pleasanton, he finds two handicapped children which he adopts and adores and builds his life around those children. When he hires Connor to adapt his home for a handicapped child, who also was a throwaway child in his early life and becomes a recluse working as a carpenter and woodcarver, the two develop a strong attraction to one another as well as both loving the two children. The story is heart warming as well as heart wrenching and the attraction between the two becomes Hot and Intense. I highly recommend this whole series to anyone who loves MM Romance. A Must Read. Loved It.
There is nothing more heartwarming, or heartbreaking, than a couple of men who fall in love and deal with small children of their own, or soon to be their own. This series by Andrew Grey concentrates on at least one MC with physical challenges, but in this one there are two six-year-old Lila, a young girl with a mysterious ailment that forces her to use crutches, and eight-year-old Jerry who is suffering from degenerative MD.

But it also, and mostly, concentrates on the men in their lives--Dan, a self made millionaire who adopts both of them, and Connor, a master carpenter whose first impression of Dan is almost violently distasteful. Yet as it turns out they are very much alike in background--both abandoned as children, and both terribly lonely but distrustful of possible relationships. The fact that the story takes place in the same Michigan area where each of the other books take place, and that characters from those books are there for support, lends a lot more credibility to the plot and the character development than one might expect.

But then this is Andrew Grey, and you never know what to expect out of him except great writing, very good sex, and a love of children and how gay parents can give true value to their lives while finding value in their own. You will cry, laugh and swallow hard throughout and will be touched deeply.
